We look forward to building upon our relationship with Sylvan Lake and Central Alberta from the ground up. Our vision includes creating a gold standard, professional product on and off the field while prioritizing a progressive, respectful and inclusive team atmosphere.

Meet your Gulls Leadership Team
Graham Schetzsle
Founder & CEO
Graham is a former NCAA D1 baseball player and lifelong baseball fan. He co-founded and managed Dryland Cattle Trading Corp. until 2016 — an East Central Alberta livestock exchange company. They marketed 100,000 cattle annually, with 35 staff and a client base of more than 400 buyers and sellers. He manages a land base supporting 600 cows and a feedlot.
Jen Schetzsle
Founder & CEO
Jen began her working career in a nursing profession. Now she’s an active community member, including being on the team that founded the 3Cs Minor Hockey Association in 2015. She was the co-owner, Office Manager, and key team member of Dryland Cattle until 2016. She’s certified as a meditation and mindfulness instructor and currently owner and operator of Mudita Wellness.
Aqil Samuel
President and COO
Aqil is a former NAIA all-conference baseball player at Viterbo College in LaCrosse Wisconsin and original member of the Prairie Baseball Academy in Lethbridge, Alberta. He also has over 20 years of high level coaching experience; including 2 Team Alberta Canada Cup Teams, the 2007 Team Alberta Western Canada Summer Games gold medal team, and at the Prairie Baseball Academy. The Gulls Front Office will gain from his 20 plus years of Management experience.
Karlin Stickel
Director of Social Media and Brand Development
Karlin has played fastball for over 20 years and is from a sports-oriented family. She is an avid entrepreneur, focusing on design and marketing. She runs her own side businesses, and does photography as a hobby. She is currently the executive director for an Adult Learning Centre.
Shawna James
CFO
Shawna has worked with a variety of minor sports teams including, ball and hockey in her role as Recreation Director and Assistant Recreation Director for different Municipalities in the past. In 2014 she received her Master Technician Designation through RFP. In 2018 Shawna chose to go the numbers route and obtained her Accounting certification through Olds College. After working for a great Accounting Firm, she has joined the Gulls Team!
Jason Chatwood
General Manager and Head Coach
Jason Chatwood grew up in Innisfail, Alberta. He played Minor Baseball in Innisfail and Red Deer. He is married to Heather Chatwood, who was a softball standout at Colby Community College, Div 2 Player of the Year at Adams State University, and played 4 years on the Canadian Women’s National softball team. Together, they have 2 boys named Tucker and Owen.
Jodie Jamieson
Event Development Manager
With over two decades of experience in sales, advertising, and event development, Jodie is renowned for her ability to forge deep connections and craft compelling experiences. Her passion for sports and entertainment drives her to create events that draw attendees from across the prairies, showcasing her expertise in maximizing ROI through sponsorship alignment.
Jodie’s commitment extends beyond professional success; she addresses social needs by integrating social responsibility into event management and fostering experiences that contribute positively to society. With her innovative approach and unwavering dedication, Jodie continues to redefine event development, leaving a lasting impact on all who experience her creations.
